Mr. Sun and Mrs. Liu deserve a lot of credit. We are not tiger parents and we do not wish to resort to intensive, high-pressure methods to push our children to succeed. After listening to several of Mr. Sun's public lectures, we agree with Mr. Sun's philosophy of education. Mr. Sun advocates doing what needs to be done and letting nature take its course. There is no need to intentionally pursue science competitions, sports, research, attending prestigious summer schools, and so on. This makes J's mind relatively calm throughout high school, and parents avoid getting caught up in the anxiety of blindly following the crowd. Mr. Sun is very experienced in selecting courses, and he helped to plan J's four years of high school courses to make sure that the content and difficulty level matched the majors of the colleges to which he would apply. Since the summer of 11th grade, Mr. Sun has met with his child weekly to provide guidance on all aspects of school selection, paperwork, and recommendation letters. This step-by-step approach is very effective, spreading the vast amount of paperwork evenly over 20 weeks so that the child can follow the progress step by step and complete the qualified paperwork before the deadline. Mr. Sun is extremely conscientious and responsible in his work. He has a good sense of words, both literary and rational, and a quick and steady style of thinking, which often helps him find another way to calm down his fear of difficulties when he encounters a bottleneck in just a few words. I met Dr. Sun my sophomore year and from the first day, I knew we’d connect really well. That’s because we share the same goal-oriented mindset. Dr. Sun is a very straightforward mentor who uses his experience to forge a clear, direct path for students to follow. He helped me navigate the college application process by setting deadlines, goals/objectives, and different options to choose from. However, what strikes me the most is Dr. Sun's authentic, honest and straightforward work ethic. He paints a realistic picture of where the student is at and then crafts a detailed plan to follow. His optimism also helped me gain a better understanding of my own potential as well. There were many times where I doubted my capabilities within the application process, but Dr. Sun was there to help me and provided me with realistic and optimistic feedback to help strengthen my confidence. He pushes you to strive for the best, no matter where you are, academically or outside the classroom. In the end, I knew I could trust Dr. Sun because of his realistic approach. If there is something Dr. Sun recommends, he will say it immediately. He does not circle around, and he will directly inform you where to correct your essays, when to get it done by, and how to build a better application overall. In the end, from start to finish, Dr. Sun helped me mold my application by adapting my unique experiences into my story. He is able to understand where a student is and help them move forward while always maintaining an optimistic attitude. I am forever grateful for Dr. Sun and the Ace Education Team, as they changed my life forever and showed me what I am capable of.

As a father, I know my son so well. I truly believe he can handle things by himself. After 2 years of preparation and consulting with Dr. Sun, I decided to keep my hands off my son’s college application because I truly trust Dr. Sun’s guidance and experience. Dr. Sun and Michelle were instrumental in my daughter’s college application process. The entire journey can be extremely daunting and requires multifaceted considerations and strategic focus. Not many mentors would spend so much effort looking at every essay from common app to supplements, so I truly appreciate the fact that Dr. Sun made sure to take the time right from the beginning to perfect my essay method from brainstorming to final essay, weaving and editing details that made my best qualities shine through. The advice offered was built around my intended major and my existing interests and activities, which was extremely useful for writing unique essays that stand out while still being true to myself as a student. In general, the writing advice offered was very useful and Mr. Sun was very knowledgeable about the kind of students many different colleges are looking for, and thus how to write supplemental essays that appeal to each college specifically while still feeling sincere. Even though I had a relatively late start on my supplemental essays and rewrote my previous Common App essay after starting advising, Mr. Sun was able to set a good timeline for me to get everything done without much stress.
